Florida has a domestic violence statute, which exists to protect individuals who are in specifically defined relationships from further harm.

If you are the victim of domestic violence, call the police immediately. If you are the victim of domestic violence, you are entitled to an Injunction for Protection Against Domestic Violence to safeguard you and other victims, including your children.

If you have been accused of domestic violence, you must defend the case before the court.

An Injunction based upon domestic violence has significant implications in State and Federal Statutes, including the right to bear arms. A violation of an Injunction, even a temporary Injunction, may lead to criminal charges.

Domestic Violence Injunctions may also be issued for repeat violence and generally those type of injunctions may have similar Federal and State implications.
